I was purchasing a return ticket from Kona Hawaii when I heard the still small voice say, “don’t get a return ticket, get a one way”.
‘On the first leg of the Journey’ when I left Hawaii at the beginning of Sept, I left for Calgary to help with my brothers to move my mom into a wonderful new assisted care apartment. It was a time of breakthrough and a new season of hope for my mom.
Two weeks later I was invited to join my friend Don Stephens in the rural hamlet of Westernport, Maryland. That was pretty much the opposite direction to what I was thinking. Don and I are friends going back 25 years; teaching at the University of the Nations in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
Since arriving here in Westernport (see map) I can say that I have been intrigued by this small township and its history. There are actually three towns that meet at the three rivers from Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. Don and I also traveled to Washington D.C. to do a prayer walk near the Capitol where David’s Tent is situated on the mall. This was during the tension and Supreme Court Justice trial of Brett Kavenaugh at the Capitol. I will share the prophetic story of this prayer time in an upcoming post.
Since you asked, I will post a map for my location and update this post whenever I am traveling. Westernport is too small for this size map, it is 20 miles S of Frostburg.
My Fathers Map
Thank you Father, you know what I need, at all times, in all places
You have a map for each one of us, though hidden in your word
It is there to teach us, to lead us, to guide us
You bring me out of the wilderness, to your fountains of joy
A discovery of your life and your love everlasting, in the secret place
I have dwelt among the sons of men
But there is sweeter fellowship with your sons and daughters
My fellow travelers in the dance
Yet, there is even the most sweetest fellowship with you
In the quiet valley
Where the birds sing and the flowers bud
They proclaim your gentle and steadfast love
The waves and waters beckon me
To your greatness and power
Your awesome strength and power
Displayed above in your house, the heavens
Where should I dwell, except that I should dwell with you
If I go to the valley, I find you there
If I go to the waters, there you speak to me in the waves
I am all awash in your presence
When I behold the glory of the heavens, it is too much for me
That you would have me stand before you,
By your outstretched arm, you uphold me
That I may consider the work of your hands,
Lest I go away and am no more
You are my all in all, my Father my King, and my greatest hope
